This one bedroom apartment located in Los Angeles presented a challenge in terms of limited natural light available in the living spaces. By embracing the moodiness inherent in the space, we were able to create intimate moments through careful lighting placement. A dimly lit entry vestibule and hallway draws the eye towards a brightly lit living room at the end. A bedroom enveloped in linen curtains creates a cozy, meditative retreat that contrasts the brightness of the living room. Informed by the way the light moves through the apartment, we were able to craft spaces that support the domestic activities they need to support.
