The brief for this project was to create a space where the client could live and entertain comfortably, while being able to easily transition it into a work environment. Whether she was hosting friends or client meetings, entertaining for work or pleasure, or simply relaxing, the space needed to feel flexible and inviting. A large, informal seating area was selected to accommodate guests. An oversized dining table would also be able to host meetings and dinner parties, while also serving as an anchor for the room. Custom curtains were made to partition the kitchen from the living space, giving an increased sense of formality and privacy. A large credenza was finished in a red gloss (the signature color of the client’s brand) for intense contrast and functional storage.
